Keep a seasonal offer page current

Keep dates, availability and the end of a seasonal offer page aligned.

A seasonal page often remains accessible longer than the offer it promotes. Search results, saved links and old newsletters can send visitors there months later. Plan not only publication but also the page's state after the season ends.

First list the time-dependent details: ordering deadlines, collection dates, available versions and the contact route. A florist's Valentine's orders may follow a different process from the regular range. The page should explain that distinction without accidentally replacing ordinary opening information.

Before the season begins

Look for old years, photographs and ordering conditions in the draft. Recurring promotions may be similar without being identical. A copied page can retain a previous collection address or a product version that is no longer available.

Publish availability only when it is established. Where quantities are limited, the visible status must agree with the ordering process. A general statement about limited stock does not replace updating an offer that has sold out.

Decide who handles short-notice changes. That person needs access to the page and related notices, such as a business profile. A change displayed only in the shop window does not reach somebody opening a saved offer page.

After the ordering deadline

Remove or revise actions that are no longer possible. An active order button should not lead to an unchanged form when the business has stopped accepting orders. Show the current situation and, where appropriate, a genuinely available next step.

A recurring page can remain as information after the season. Make clear that the promotion has ended. Do not announce next year's dates before they are agreed. If a general service remains available, a relevant link to it may help visitors who arrive late.

Avoid redirecting every old seasonal page to an unrelated homepage merely to hide the expired content. Consider whether the page still answers a recognizable question and what destination would actually help somebody following its old link.

Prepare the next cycle

Keep an internal record of the copy and dates that applied. Add notes about questions customers raised during the promotion. Those observations are more useful than simply republishing the old page.

Check outdated links elsewhere on the site too. The homepage should not continue to recommend an expired offer as current. A seasonal cycle is complete when visible information and available actions describe the same situation. Review those points again before reuse rather than assuming that last year's arrangements apply unchanged.

Take the next question further.
